Our-Love.io Data & Deletion Policy
At Our-Love.io, we respect your right to control your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, how it's used, and how you can request deletion of your data.
1. Data We Collect
- Payment Information: We collect payment details necessary for processing your orders (handled securely through our payment processor). - User-Generated Content: Photos, names, messages, dates, and other personalized content you upload to create your love story pages. - Technical Data: Web cookies, IP addresses, and usage analytics to improve our service. - Account Information: Email address provided during payment for communication and service updates.
2. How We Use Information and Your Choices
We use this information to create and maintain gifts, process purchases, deliver links, manage accounts and prevent abuse. Optional PostHog analytics requires your choice. Advertising measurement, when enabled, requires a separate choice and can send purchase amounts, currency, event identifiers and campaign/click identifiers to Meta, Google and TikTok. Gift photos, letters and couple names are excluded from these purchase events. You can change your choices using the privacy preferences button. These optional choices are not required to buy a gift.
3. Data Retention
The public link for a yearly plan becomes unavailable when the plan ends. Expiry does not automatically erase the photos or story from the owner’s account. Contact team@our-love.io about extending access or requesting deletion. New temporary uploads that were never attached to checkout may be removed after eight days. Pending checkouts and legacy assets require separate review before removal. Backups and records held by service providers require separate retention and deletion review.
4. Your Right to Delete Data
You have the right to request complete deletion of your data at any time. To request data deletion:
Option 1: Email us at team@our-love.io with: - Subject line: "Data Deletion Request" - The email address associated with your account - Confirmation that you wish to permanently delete all data
Option 2: Open Privacy and data in your account dashboard and submit a deletion request. A reference is saved so you can follow up. Submitting the request does not immediately erase your pages.
5. What Happens When You Request Deletion
Upon receiving your deletion request, we will: - Confirm your identity (to prevent unauthorized deletion) - Delete your love story page and all associated content (photos, messages, etc.) - Remove your personal information from our systems - Delete your payment information (except what's required for legal/tax purposes) - Respond without undue delay, normally within one month. If a lawful extension is necessary, explain the reasons within that first month. - Send you a confirmation email once deletion is complete
6. Data We Cannot Delete
For legal compliance, we may retain: - Transaction records only for the retention periods required by applicable accounting and tax law; we will explain any retention that applies to your request. - Records of communications for legal dispute resolution - Aggregated, anonymized analytics data that cannot identify you personally
7. Third-Party Services
- Payment Processing: We use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe maintains its own data policies and retention periods. - Image Hosting: Images are stored on ImageKit. Upon deletion request, we remove all images from our account. - Email Service: We use Resend for email communications. - Authentication: Our Love accounts use Kinde. - Analytics: We use PostHog. We review the data held by these providers as part of your request.
8. Data Portability
Before requesting deletion, you can request a copy of your data: - Email team@our-love.io with "Data Export Request" in the subject line - We'll provide a downloadable package of your photos and content within 7 business days
9. Automatic Deletion
- Plan expiration does not itself confirm erasure. - Requests are reviewed across our application, storage, authentication, email and analytics providers. Backups and any legally retained records require separate review.
10. Children's Data
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 years of age. If we become aware of such data, it will be deleted immediately.
11. Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be communicated via: - Email notification to your registered address - Notice on our website - Updated "Effective Date" at the top of this policy
