Our-Love.io Data & Deletion Policy

At Our-Love.io, we respect your right to control your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, how it's used, and how you can request deletion of your data.

1. Data We Collect  
- Payment Information: We collect payment details necessary for processing your orders (handled securely through our payment processor).
- User-Generated Content: Photos, names, messages, dates, and other personalized content you upload to create your love story pages.
- Technical Data: Web cookies, IP addresses, and usage analytics to improve our service.
- Account Information: Email address provided during payment for communication and service updates.

2. How We Use Your Data  
Your data is used exclusively for:
- Creating and maintaining your personalized love story pages
- Processing payments and managing subscriptions
- Sending service-related communications
- Improving our platform and user experience

3. Data Retention  
- Active Accounts: Your data is retained as long as your love story page is active and your subscription is valid.
- Expired Subscriptions: For 1-year plans, data is retained for 30 days after expiration to allow renewal. After that, pages may be archived or deleted.
- Forever Plans: Your data is maintained indefinitely as part of your lifetime access.

4. Your Right to Delete Data  
You have the right to request complete deletion of your data at any time. To request data deletion:

Option 1: Email us at team@our-love.io with:
- Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
- The email address associated with your account
- Confirmation that you wish to permanently delete all data

Option 2: Contact us through your account dashboard (if logged in)

5. What Happens When You Request Deletion  
Upon receiving your deletion request, we will:
- Confirm your identity (to prevent unauthorized deletion)
- Delete your love story page and all associated content (photos, messages, etc.)
- Remove your personal information from our systems
- Delete your payment information (except what's required for legal/tax purposes)
- Complete the deletion within 30 days
- Send you a confirmation email once deletion is complete

6. Data We Cannot Delete  
For legal compliance, we may retain:
- Transaction records required for accounting and tax purposes (typically 7 years)
- Records of communications for legal dispute resolution
- Aggregated, anonymized analytics data that cannot identify you personally

7. Third-Party Services  
- Payment Processing: We use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe maintains its own data policies and retention periods.
- Image Hosting: Images are stored on ImageKit. Upon deletion request, we remove all images from our account.
- Email Service: We use Resend for email communications. Contact information is removed upon deletion request.

8. Data Portability  
Before requesting deletion, you can request a copy of your data:
- Email team@our-love.io with "Data Export Request" in the subject line
- We'll provide a downloadable package of your photos and content within 7 business days

9. Automatic Deletion  
- Abandoned Carts: Incomplete transactions are automatically purged after 90 days
- Expired 1-Year Plans: If not renewed, pages are deleted 30 days after expiration (email reminders sent beforehand)

10. Children's Data  
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 years of age. If we become aware of such data, it will be deleted immediately.

11. Updates to This Policy  
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be communicated via:
- Email notification to your registered address
- Notice on our website
- Updated "Effective Date" at the top of this policy
